The focus is on the following questions, among others: How was life in the "wild" 1920s for a woman who wanted to survive as an artist? How can social ascriptions of “normalness” affect such a life? Ida Maly was murdered in the NS killing facility Hartheim castle as part of the NS "euthanasia" program. On which ideologies could the killing policy of National Socialism be based?
Based on these questions, the research workshop combines a self-exploring, interactive and creative approach to the history of Ida Maly in the Lentos Museum and an intensive examination of the Nazi ideology and extermination policy in Hartheim Castle based on this.
The journey between the two institutions takes place with a bus and is used for reflections.
Ideally, the visits to both places take place one after the other and are combined with the bus trip. However, this can also be agreed flexibly with the organizers at Lentos.
Karin Schneider (Head of Lentos Art Education) is available for advice. Please contact us via kunstvermittlung@lentos.at or send your telephone number.
Price for the research workshop and a visit to both institutions including travel expenses and admissions: € 8.00.
